Opening Doors London is currently recruiting experienced training professionals who identify as LGBT+, are confident in their sexual orientation and gender identity and willing to work as part of a diverse training team delivering courses and workshops to health and social care professionals throughout greater London and beyond.

As well as London based LGBT+ identifying trainers we are particularly interested in LGBT+ trainers based in or close to Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham.

We would also particularly encourage trainers identifying as trans, bisexual and/or BME to apply as we are committed to demonstrating the diversity of all LGBT+ communities and at the present time trans, bisexual and people from the BME communities are underrepresented in the training team as a whole.

Trainers will need to be teacher or trainer qualified (BED/PGCE/CIPD/PTLLS) or to have substantial training delivery experience evidenced by satisfactory evaluations and client references.

For a confidential discussion about working as a sessional trainer for Opening Doors London, including contractual issues and current daily/hourly training fees, please contact the Training and Consultancy Manager, Jim Glennon, direct at

In addition to sessions delivered by its experienced trainers, Opening Doors London offers a variety of community workshop events led by training team staff and bringing confident, articulate representatives of older (50+) LGBT+ communities into discussion and debate with local people, health and social care professionals, Borough Council representatives and business in order to advocate change to improve the quality of life for LGBT+ people over 50.

If you identify as LGBT+, are over 50 and would like to join our team of Ambassadors please contact the Training and Consultancy Manager, Jim Glennon, direct at These are voluntary, unpaid positions with Opening Doors London, though full training and ongoing support is provided and out of pocket expenses including travel are refunded in accordance with ODL policy.
