Fundraise for us

If you’re an individual or a group of friends or work colleagues, you could enter a sports event on our behalf, such as a 10K run or cycle race, or organise an event such as a film and food night, group dog walk with tea or a hot toddy afterwards, kitchen disco, beard growing competition or the first in your office to fill a bottle with £1 coins.

You could do a car boot for us, auction something you don’t want anymore on eBay or hold a cake sale at home or at work.

If you’re a business maybe you could you have a dressing up day, an inter-departmental fitness challenge in which people pay to enter, or you could organise a staff quiz night or darts, pool, or football match.

If you are in the service industry maybe you could give us the takings from a particular event, or 10% of the proceeds of a particular product to us for a period of time.

The more fun you have the better it will be, and we can help advertise your event or activity across our social media. However much you raise we would be so grateful.

Run 10km for Opening Doors London

London Frontrunners (www.londonfrontrunners.org) is an inclusive club for LGBT* and LGBT*-friendly people who love running. Each year they organise The Pride Run 10K and if you or your team take part for Opening Doors London we can help you set up a fundraising page and encourage sponsorship. How about challenging other LGBT* staff and student networks to see who can compete the 10K fastest or raise most money for ODL?

Leave a legacy

Leaving a gift in your will or living trust to ODL will enable us to continue to provide support and services to older LGBT* people.

As well as a sum of money it can be a specific item or a percentage of your estate and you can determine how and when a gift can be made. You can retain full control of your assets during your lifetime and can change the amount, conditions or beneficiary at any time.

A gift or bequest can be made by adding a couple of sentences to your existing will or living trust, but we do recommend seeking guidance from a solicitor or will writing service.

We are in contact with five LGBT*-friendly will providers who will be able to hep you:
